Understandably the very youngest of learners develop physically and cognitively at different paces from older students, British education therefore places different levels of importance on different developmental and academic areas.
The Three Prime Areas
- Personal, Social and
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
These seven areas provide the basis for planning and progression throughout EYFS. In Nursery 1, 2 and Reception the three prime areas provide the important context for all other learning. The four specific areas enable children to gain essential skills and understanding while developing individual talents and potential.
The EYFS stage not only acts as a transition between home and school but also lays secure foundations for all future learning.
